A woman in Virginia named Kimberly jackson, 36, was arrested for having see with her unconscious boyfriend in a parking lot in broad day light out a busy shopping area in East virginia beach boulevard on Tuesday September 8th. When police was called to the scene of the sex act by mortified passers by they found the man, Earl palmer, unresponsive while the woman straddled him. They later told the police they did it because they were drunk..

The sex act that lasted for few minutes  was filmed by passersby and shared on social media.

Ghana will today, September 21, mark the 106th birthday of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah . 

In 2010, the late President John Evans Atta Mills instituted the Founders Day to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. 

The day will be marked with lectures, symposiums and other programmes to highlight his achievements and vision. 

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) which was founded by Nkrumah will celebrate the 106th birthday of their founder who was born on September 21, 1909.

Since the Founders Day falls on Monday, the day has been declared a national holiday in Ghana. 

The CPP last year said it is not enough to set a day aside as a holiday to celebrate Ghana's first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. 

The party called for the day to be linked to an activity such as a cleanup exercise to make it more productive.

Ghana is a disciplined country- Mr Ibu

John Okafor, a Nigerian actor and comedy popularly known as Mr Ibu says the reason for his regular visit to Ghana is because the former British colony is a disciplined country. 

“I like coming to Ghana apart from the fact that it is my second home, there is a lot of discipline among the citizens.”

Power ministry backs utility price hikes

The Ministry of Power has hinted it might back utility companies on the planned major tariff increments. 

This follows public uproar against proposed tariff increments tabled by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Volta River Authority (VRA. 

The two companies are proposing a more than 100 percent increment in tariffs for 2015. 

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) wants the current tariff of 16 pesewas per unit to be increased to 35 pesewas while the Volta River Authority (VRA) has tabled an increase from 15 pesewas to 30 pesewas per unit. 

Meanwhile, the Ashanti, Northern and Eastern regions have kicked against the proposed increments following consultative meetings organized by the Public Utility Regulatory Commission in those regions. 

Delivering the Keynote address at the Powering Africa Investment Summit in Accra, the Minister of Power, Dr.kwabena Donkor, said government was ready to take the tough decisions. 

“We at the helm of affairs in the power sector have recognized that underlying the historic under-investment in generation, transmission and distribution has been the unattractive tariff regime,” he lamented.

According to him, Ghanaians have paid lower tariffs as compared to what is prevalent in the sub-region in the past because of the benefit of “Legacy Hydro, but “unfortunately as demand expand by about 12% per annum, the role of legacy hydro diminishes and tariffs must now reflect the actual cost of service ” 

The Akosombo hydropower plants would only constitute 38% of VRA’s generation mix by December this year, which will constitute less than 30% of the country’s generation mix. 

“Let me assure investors in the sector both local and foreign that the tariff question is being address and that the Ghanaian state will not shy away from taking the tough decisions that need to be taken,” Dr. Donkor stressed.

Man "Haunted by Ghost " surrenders to police

A suspect who is said to have been haunted by the ghost of a woman he witnessed being beheaded by her husband has surrendered to the police. 

Daniel Kwame Aidoo, 33, claimed to have witnessed the beheading of Esi Brokuwaa by her husband, Simon Larri, 33, but failed to report the matter to the police. 

He abandoned his farm at Joma Agbozome, near Ablekuma, where the incident took place, and absconded to Bawjiase, his hometown. 

This came to light when the remains of Esi Brokuwaa were exhumed by the police on his farm where she was buried. 

The decomposed body was found wrapped with a multi-coloured piece of wax print. Two other suspects, including Larri, and the owner of the farm, Richard Annanfio, 57, are currently assisting the police, while a fourth suspect, identified only as Buntuman, is currently on the run. 

It is suspected that Larri killed his wife and left her in their room on Nkuja Farms where the Vocanga African plants are cultivated and exported by the owner. The exhumation was witnessed by family members of the deceased and curious residents of the community after the traditional leaders of Joma had performed a traditional rite. 

For close to an hour, a team led by the pathologist carefully removed the soil that covered the shallow grave before the body was put in a black body bag and conveyed into a waiting police hearse. 

Son speaks 

A son of the deceased, Mr Felix Adofo, told the Daily Graphic that in June 2015, he received a phone call from a family friend who lived at Joma that his mother had been killed by his stepfather. 

"l had been calling my mother’s phone for sometime but she was not answering. Later, my calls were answered by a man who claimed to be in Tarkoradi in the Western Region." 

He said he quickly arranged to meet the informant who took him to where his mother lived with his stepfather, since he did not know the area. 

"When we got there, we found out that the place was vacant, but we found blood stains on a bed in the room where my mother lived with her husband." 

He said a report was filed at the Anyah Police Station and he also informed his external relations.

It was later found out that Larri had gone to Kwahu Praso where his six-year-old son lived with the mother of Esi, purporting to have been sent by Esi to go for the boy. 

"When he arrived, my grandmother said it was too late so he should sleep over. So when they heard the news, my stepfather was handed over to the Praso Police the next day." 

Police report 

The Anyah District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr Christian Kpodzi, said on June 19, 2015, the police received a report that a man had killed his wife but he had absconded. 

He said the complainant also claimed some other persons had buried the woman secretly on the farm near the Densu Lake. 

He said investigations established that Larri sent Esi to buy cigarette for him but she returned hours later rather drunk and without the cigarettes. An angry Larri, he said, assaulted Esi in the presence of a witness and dragged her on the ground towards their room. 

He said Larri hacked Esi with a machete and removed a pair of trousers she was wearing and used it to tie her neck, after which he pulled her to the room. 

Mr Kpodzi added that the police visited the crime scene and found blood stains on a mattress in the room of the couple but there was no trace of the body. He said the stained mattress was taken for forensic testing to establish if it was human blood. 

On July 2, 2015, the remains of a human body was found a few meters away from the farm and arrangements were made to exhume the body. 

Exhumation 

A pathologist from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Robert Komodzi, said he had received an exhumation order from the court for the removal of the body and examination after finding the body which was in a superficial grave. 

He said the body would be examined to determine whether it was human remains and the cause of death would be established. 

Although he could not tell how long the examination could take, he said a final report would later be submitted to the court.

Judicial scandal :22 judges to be prosecuted

The Attorney General is pressing charges against the 22 judges and magistrates who were indicted in the corruption scandal which has hit the judiciary of Ghana. 

The judges are part of a list of 34 members of the bench who were caught on camera allegedly taking bribes to throw away cases. Twelve other high court judges are being probed by a five-member body set up by the Judicial Council. 

Starr News can confirm the Attorney General’s department is almost through with the processes that will lead to the prosecution of the suspended magistrates. 

According to sources, the judges are likely to be dragged to court Tuesday since a prima facie case has been made against them after watching the damning videos by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in a painstaking two-year undercover exercise. 

Meanwhile, 10 out of the 12 High Court judges being investigated in the latest corruption scandal which has hit Ghana’s judiciary have up to today to respond to an impeachment petition against them.

According to a statement signed by the Judicial Secretary Justice Alex B. Poku-Acheampong, upon the judges‘ response, the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood “in accordance with Article 146 (3) would determine whether there is a prima facie case against them.“

Anas Aremeyaw Anas Expose': Judges storm court to stop public screening of video

High Court Judges accused of taking bribes are heading to court to stop plans to broadcast a video that purports to record their corrupt activities. 

Joy News sources say the judges -- part of 22 lower court judges suspended in the wake of the exposé -- intend to place an injunction on a public screening of the video, slated for September 22 and 23 at the Accra International Conference Centre. 

The judges, source say, will be praying the court to make it illegal for anyone to show the video on all broadcast platforms, including TV stations, the internet and on social media, such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp. 

Since news about the bribery scandal that implicates about 34 High Court Judges and more than 100 Judicial Service workers broke, the Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has come under stern pressure to abandon plans to broadcast a video documentary of his exposé. 

Those who are pushing for plans of a public viewing of the video to be shelved say stinking revelations in the documentary could irreparably erode confidence in the judicial system. 

Others however, say it must be screened. But Tiger Eye PI, holders of the copyright to the video, titled “Ghana in the Eyes of God – Epic of Injustice”, say they will go ahead with plans to broadcast the exposé. 

The video, which has already been shown to selected influential people, captures some judges allegedly receiving bribes – cash, tubers of yams, live goats etc – to influence judgments.

In the expose, one of the judges is heard saying: “What if I release him (armed robbery suspect) on Friday and I don’t see you again? Oh I will get him off the hook on Friday but everything will depend on you.” 

The Insight newspaper has also been publishing transcripts of what it claims are conversations between undercover journalists and some Judges – most of which point to gross travesty of the rule of law. 

Anas sought immunity against criminal and civil prosecution under the Whistle Blowers Act before breaking his two-year investigative story, however, the embattled judges want that immunity lifted. 

They are challenging the basis for which the Chief Justice accepted the product of Anas’s investigation and using same to impeach them or for any criminal prosecution that may arise from an ongoing enquiry. The enquiry has also been met with stiff legal challenge. 

Lawyers for some of the lower court judges under the judicial council investigation have filed a writ at the High Court saying the enquiry has no basis in law. 

Anas' exposé also implicates 12 high court judges. They have until today, Monday September 14 to submit their written responses to bribery allegations against them. The Chief Justice will then examine their responses before deciding whether to open a formal investigation into the accusations, in which case, they would also be suspended.

65 year old woman gets twelve strokes over witchcraft allegation in sokoto

A 65 year old woman known as zainab Labbo was allegedly flogged with twelve strokes for practising witchcraft in Isa Local Government area in sokoto state.

According to the son, Zainab was flogged at the palace district head, alhajii nasiru malami hamed ,in response to a complaint logged against her by her daughter inlaw. Residents  of the community say Zainab daughter in law had logged a complaint before the district head last year alleging that her mother inlaw was aiding her son to maltreat her through diabolical means.

The palace authority summarily tried the accused and found her guilty of the allegation levelled against her. Zainab denied the allegation levelled against her to journalists who were there to investigate the incident. She also confirmed that twelve strokes were administered on her by the palace guard on the order of the district head.

Aggrieved members of the village held a press confrence where they stated that the woman is not the first victim to suffer such an just treatment by palace authorities. They added that many residents have been invited to the palace and summarily tried for one offence or the other. They accused the head of the district, alhaji nadir malami Ahmed of high handedness. They called on the state gorvenor Amino Waziri Tambuwal and his Eminence Alhaji sa'ad abubakar III to come to their aid as a matter of urgency.

The divisional police officer in the area,Mr ilyasu tanko,supretendent of. Povillagevillagersrlice (csp) when contacted confirmed the receipt of the complaint of attack from the the villagers and said that the police is appropriately investigating the matter.

Wanlov Da Kubolor of the FOKN BOIS fame has in his latest blasphemous rants described God as a man who is uncertain of what he does.

According to him, even though God pretends to know everything, he made a mistake in the biblical episode involving Noah and the Ark.

“God is not sure of certain things he does. He is not all knowing and He is not sure that He doesn’t know the things he doesn’t know,” Kubolor stated on Accra-based Radio XYZ Friday.

The FOKN BOIS who were in the studios of the Osu-based station also said Christianity must be banned since it is part of a grand agenda by the West to enslave Africans. They believe Christianity is to be blamed for the many challenges confronting Ghana.

“The Bible is an old newspaper,” they said. They are also calling for lava or fire to burnout the “rot” in Ghana.

Actor John Dumelo for Ndc Mp?

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential and parliamentary Primaries is sure to get very entertaining in every sense of the word, after Razz Newspaper got the alert that, another stalwart in the entertainment industry , John Dumelo , has been mentioned for a position as a member of Parliament. 

Some Influential Party executives, many foot soldiers and supporters of the party are calling on the actor to contest for the MP slot on November 7, 2015 when the party goes for its primaries, the paper learnt. 

Razz Newspaper Reporter Mustapha Inusah contacted the award winning actor/Entrepreneur on the alert and he confirmed receiving calls from persons within the party in relation to contesting for MP. 

He stated that his ambition for the future is to be president of 

Ghana one day, but he needs time to focus on other projects before he can fully venture into politics. 

“Yes , to be president, I surely need to start from somewhere, that’s being an MP, but I am not ready yet because I Have lot of projects that I have started and since politics and the MP role needs time and dedication, I will consider it after the next four years” He explained. 

Commenting on the calls coming through for him to participate in the coming elections, the actor stated that, he has been receiving such requests for quite a while, but the pressure increased recently when NDC announced the date for their primaries .

“Though I am still in the united states, I still receive calls, SMS, Whatapp chat with members of the NDC party with some leading members asking me why I am not representing my people ” he said. 

He went on to reveal that, most of the people who are suggesting he contest , tell him that, he is doing more for the society through his charity works which include the building of schools and various donations to the less privileged and that could do way more if he attains the MP Position. 

The actor is said to be very popular at the party’s grassroots in the central Region , Ashanti Region where his mother comes from and the Volta Region where his father hails.

President Mahama's challenger kicked out by Ndc

The 45-year-old Oyarifa branch Youth Organiser George Boateng, who was seeking to contest President John Mahama in the upcoming primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been disqualified by the party. 

George Boateng earlier threatened to place an injunction on the presidential primaries if the party fails to make available a copy of the presidential nomination forms to enable him to file and contest Mahama. 

But speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Friday, the NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the party has decided not to waste its time on someone who did not know the procedure for filing his nomination.

He explained that the NDC party is “engaged in very serious business” since “the person who will emerge apart from being the presidential candidate will be the leader of this party.” 

“So that is why in the drama of George Boateng, we indicated that we are not here for that thing and we are seriously engaged in the business of selecting our candidate.” 

The NDC scribe noted that if George Boateng feels that he “…is a credible candidate and wants to take advantage of the process, [he] can come through the laws and the forms will be made available to him.”

Anas expose's : implicated judges named

The names of the justices who have been caught up in journalist, Anas Aremeyaw’s bribery scandal have been released. 

The Judicial Council released the names on Friday in a statement but explained that two of them; Justice Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Mustapha and Justice Yaw Ansu-Gyeabuor have retired. 

According to the Judicial Council, the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode is still awaiting response from 12 of the High Court judges involved in the scandal.
